The Aros Quartet met and formed in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Mull during the Mendelssohn on Mull Chamber Music Festival in 2010.  Following this they were invited to attend the chamber music course at West Dean College run by the Chilingirian Quartet, where they won an award to become quartet-in-residence at the College. This started a busy season of concerts in venues around the UK, such as St. Martin in the Fields, Lincoln’s Inn and the National Theatre.  They also impressed the director of the Kings Place Chamber Studio, and were invited to participate in the following season’s masterclasses.

The Aros Quartet take a keen interest in education and outreach work, and are committed to enhancing lives through enjoyment of music.  They recently embarked on a tour of schools in Wales with their workshop series “Musical Conversations”, during which they featured on BBC Radio Wales.  In the past they have also appeared on Moray Firth Radio, and will be performing on BBC Radio Scotland’s “Classics Unwrapped” this summer.

The Aros Quartet, both as a quartet and as individuals, have been fortunate enough to have been taught and mentored by some of the finest chamber musicians in Europe, including their principal mentors the Chilingirian Quartet and Marcia Crayford.
